Professor Thomas Henzinger was appointed as the first president of IST Austria on December 4, 2008, by the Board of Trustees of IST Austria. He is a well-known renowned computer scientist, born in Linz (Upper Austria), with a long career abroad. His term started on September 1, 2009.

Dr. Gerald Murauer as Managing Director of IST Austria heads the administration of IST Austria and is responsible for financial management, technical and legal matters, and human resources.
