The campus of IST Austria is located in Klosterneuburg, a historical town to the northwest of Vienna. The campus lies in the beautiful landscape of the Vienna Woods, but only 18 km away from the center of the Austrian capital.

The campus has tremendous potential, consisting of large green spaces (179,000 m²) and an additional area of 75,000 m² for a technology park. The Bertalanffy Foundation Building and the lecture hall blend in with the old pavilion-like edifices from the late 19th century, which were efficiently adapted for the needs of a first class research institute. Other facilities include apartments, a guest house, a restaurant, a kindergarten, a soccer field, a tennis court, and a museum (house of artists and art/brut center gugging).

IST Austria features a busy campus life. People get together on a regular basis and engage in social activities, ranging from soccer, volleyball, lacrosse and skiing to board game nights and dancing, language, and yoga courses.
