School contest „We are ScientISTA!“

Award for outstanding school theses

Are you working on your VWA or diploma thesis in the STEM field? Submit a PDF of your work including a short statement (recommendation with justification) from your supervising teacher!

The jury will select the five most innovative papers from all submissions. The winning submissions will be published as posters and honored in an award ceremony at the ISTA Open Campus. The winning young researchers will be invited to briefly present their work to the audience at the award ceremony and will also have the opportunity to experience excellent research first-hand at ISTA during an internship day on September 25, 2023.

Email your submission with your name, email address, class, school and your thesis to science.education@ist.ac.at.

Deadline for submissions is April 15, 2023 and the award ceremony will be held at the Open Campus on Sunday, June 4, 2023!

Travel expenses will be covered if needed (only public transportation tickets will be reimbursed).

School Contest „My research – my discovery“

Winners 2022

During the Open Campus, we also awarded this years’ winning projects of the ISTA school contest entitled “Meine Entdeckung – Meine Forschung”. We received submissions from more than 1500 pupils in three categories from all over Austria, with solo projects as well as class submissions and even projects conducted by entire schools. The fifteen winning projects received a certificate and a school material voucher handed over by our Vice President for Science Education Gaia Novarino and the Mayor of the city of Klosterneuburg Stefan Schmuckenschlager.

Thank you for the participation, and congratulations to all the victorious projects 2022!
