Founder of Computational Topology back to his roots

Prof. Herbert Edelsbrunner started serving in a full time capacity at IST Austria at the beginning of August. Six further members of his former research group at Duke University will join him during the next weeks. The Austrian-born professor is widely considered as the founder of Computational Topology. Like Tom Henzinger, the fist president of IST Austria, Herbert is one of the most highly-cited scientists in computer sciences. He will contribute to implement this discipline as a key strength of IST.
