Cyber Security Specialist

Your Responsibilities
As a Cyber Security Specialist at ISTA, you play a critical role in protecting our organization's IT infrastructure from cyberattacks. By using a variety of IT security tools, you promote a proactive approach to our infrastructure. This allows for early detection and reduction of potential threats, the management of essential security systems, and the assessment of risk and compliance for applications, systems, and networks. Providing ongoing employee training and maintaining comprehensive documentation of cybersecurity best practices are additional responsibilities of this position.
- Security monitoring of ISTA’s IT infrastructure
- Design, analysis as well as management and administration of security systems
- Provide input for the development of ISTA´s security infrastructure architecture
- Project lead for proactive vulnerability assessments including penetration tests and audits to identify and remediate security weaknesses
- Coordinate securing the operating system environments, including hardening of Active Directory
- Fast and targeted incident response for security incidents
- Developing and implementing security policies and procedures
- Educating and training users on cybersecurity best practices
Your Profile
- University degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in cyber security
- Experience in conducting and coordinating vulnerability assessments and penetration tests
- Thorough grasp of security principles, practices, and frameworks, including ISO 27000 series, NIST, and legal obligations like GDPR and NIS2.
- Experience with security tools and technologies, such as SIEMs, firewalls, and EDR
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Eagerness to learn and grow by using the institutes offer to participate in conferences, educations and trainings
- Experience with working in a research environment is a plus
