Research Technician - Battery Technology Research Group Freunberger

Your Responsibilities

The Freunberger group works on the fundamental science of electron and ion conducting and redox active materials. We incorporate these materials into rechargeable batteries. Current technologies bear societal problems like environmentally and humanly unfriendliness or safety issues. The technology of Redox-Flow-Batteries serves as a way out. For our new invention in this field, we are looking for an ambitious team member to support our dynamic team in battery testing. We show you how to build and analyze batteries. After a training period, you will be responsible for a self-reliant lab operation with focus on:

  • Electrochemical analysis of our organic compounds by Cyclic Voltammetry, Impedance Spectroscopy, building batteries, battery testing
  • Development of battery components like separators and electrodes
  • Optimizing existing battery prototypes
  • Laying the groundwork for a potential spin-off company

Your Profile

  • Education in (Technical) Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Material Science or related field (HTL, BSc, MSc)
  • Experience in electrochemistry is advantageous but not necessary (we will train you)
  • Good English and/or German skills
  • Proactive personality with attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
  • Team player with the ability to work independently, learn quickly, and multi-task
  • Hands-on mentality and willingness to learn new processes
