Your Responsibilities
The group of Anđela Šarić is looking for 2 outstanding postdoctoral researchers interested in working on problems in biological and soft matter physics using theory and computer simulations. Each position is for 3 years initially, with a possibility of extension. Candidates with strong backgrounds in soft matter physics, statistical mechanics, biological physics, quantitative biology, and/or molecular modelling are welcome to apply. Possible projects include, but
are not limited to, i) the physics of cell division and membrane reshaping across evolution, ii) non-equilibrium protein assembly, iii) evolving nanomachinery in silico. The projects involve close collaborations with several experimental labs.
The Šarić group is an interdisciplinary team that develops minimal computer models, rooted in statistical mechanics and soft matter physics, to describe collective phenomena in living systems. Your Profile:
- PhD is physics, chemistry, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline
- Enthusiasm about interdisciplinary research and willingness to learn about new research fields
- Committed to research excellence with a demonstrated relevant publication track record
- Ability to solve problems creatively and carefully
- Ability to conduct independent research, as well as to work effectively as a member of a research team
- Good command of English (working language)
- Good verbal, written, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
