How to get access

No matter if you are on- or off-campus, you usually just click on the link in the library catalogue and you can access the eBook immediately. With some providers, however, you have to keep the following in mind:

  • EBSCOhost:
    If you want to download the eBook you have two possibilities –
    1. You can create an account and borrow the book for a maximum of 7 days, provided you have Adobe Digital Editions or equivalent installed.
    2. Or you can select “PDF Full Text” and download each chapter separately. This is possible without the creation of an account and the chapters are permanently available.
    For off-campus access, please use a proxy.
  • ProQuest EBook Central:
    Online reading is possible without separate registration. Downloading is only possible after creating an account and subsequent registration due to Digital Rights Management.

Cost-free eBooks

Frontiers

Frontiers provides more than 3,500 eBooks free of charge as PDF or EPUB downloads on its homepage. On a monthly basis Frontiers presents the new releases.
