RESEARCH INTEREST

My PhD project lies at the interface of sexual selection and social immunity in ants. I am interested to see how the presence of a pathogen influences mating behavior, that is both male-male competition and female choice. I use an ant species, in which mating can be observed in the laboratory and in which males perform both direct and indirect male-male competition. I will further study how the behavioral changes under pathogen pressure affect the offspring generation.
