AI Specialist and Transformation Manager

Your Responsibilities

Excellent research needs state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and innovative digital services. With a team of about 50 experts, we will redesign the Institute's digital landscape over the next few years and implement an ambitious digital transformation programme to facilitate the Institute’s rapid growth. As part of our strategy, we are planning to create and implement an AI Roadmap to support core administrative and research processes.
As part of the Digital Transformation team, you drive value focused AI adoption by connecting internal stakeholders, IT, and leadership. You combine AI expertise, business insight and change management to identify high-impact use cases and support the cultural shift.

  • Monitor emerging AI developments across all domains and advise IT, leadership and internal stakeholders on opportunities arising from technological advancements in AI
  • Identify and evaluate AI use cases together with administrative, scientific service and research units
  • Translate operational challenges into AI-ready use cases and requirements
  • Assess feasibility, value, risks, and readiness of AI initiatives
  • Prioritize use cases based on impact, scalability, and effort
  • Coordinate pilots, proofs of concept, and rollouts with IT and vendors
  • Lead AI-related change management activities (communication, adoption, training)
  • Educate stakeholders on AI capabilities, limitations, and ethics
  • Support governance topics such as data quality, compliance, and responsible AI
  • Monitor benefits realization and continuous improvement of AI solutions

Your Profile

  • University degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
  • Several years of relevant experience with AI technologies and in digital transformation or technology-driven business roles
  • Solid understanding of generative AI and other machine learning concepts
  • Strong business analysis and problem solving skills
  • Experienced in change management and organizational transformation
  • Ability to translate between technical and non technical audiences
  • Structured and collaborative approach with a focus on impact and trust building
  • Reliable team-player with good communication skills
  • Working language is English, good working knowledge in German is an advantage
