Your Responsibilities
The Lab Support Facility at ISTA provides scientists with centralized access to mass spectrometry technologies, including LC-MS based proteomics, targeted metabolomics, accurate mass analysis (compounds and intact proteins), GC-MS analysis and analytical HPLCs. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support the team in taking care of the growing machine park (HPLCs, LC-MS, GC-MS) and to help with sample preparation and lab management tasks.
- Maintenance and operation of facility equipment – mainly HPLCs (Waters, Thermo) and GC-MSs (Agilent)
- Assist facility users in standard methods development and operation of HPLCs and GC-MSs
- Preparation of proteomics samples for LC-MS analysis according to standard methods
- Management of consumable stocks
- Conception and implementation of rules and guidelines to optimize service operations
- Thorough documentation of working procedures according to quality management standards
Your Profile
- University degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a similar field
- Proven practical experience with analytic HPLC and Mass Spectrometry with strong technical focus; GC-MS experience is very desirable
- Excellent command of English, written and spoken. Good knowledge of German beneficial
- Service oriented working style with high conceptual and organizational skills
- Excellent team player who can also work independently
