[Online] STEM fatale Scientific Round Table with Ruth Baker

Date: September 22, 2021 | 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Speaker: Ruth Baker, University of Oxford
Location: Online

Please note that this Round Table is for women only.

This event will undoubtedly be a great opportunity to discuss career development with a woman who fought for her position at a time in the recent past when deserving women were not given leadership roles in academia. Other topics of discussion may include what motivates women in science, why do women choose particular career paths, and anything else you want to discuss. We hope to see many of you there!

Ruth Baker is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Oxford, where her research group focusses on developing and applying new mathematical, computational and statistical tools to better understand key processes in cell and developmental biology. She is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and of the Institute of Mathematics and Its Applications, and sits on the Board of Directors of the Society for Mathematical Biology.
