Science Camp for teenagers at IST Austria

"Top Models in Science" takes place from August 28 to 30 | A few remaining spots are available for last-minute registration

In cooperation with the IST Austria and the township of Klosterneuburg, the Lower Austrian Talent Academy offers young people a rich variety of activities during the Science Camp “Top Models in Science”. At the science camp, which will take place from August 28th to 30th, students between the ages of 12 and 15 years will learn to use mathematical and computer models.

Scientific models are something that researchers at IST Austria use every day. Models make the world more graspable, and especially mathematics and computer science provide ever more precise tools to better understand the mysteries and phenomena that surround us. They are used in evolution biology as well as in the description of the physical processes in turbulent liquids. Models are just as essential in science as experiments and high-tech devices.

The “Talentesommer” in Klosterneuburg allows 16 adolescents to calculate flight paths to Mars and to create models for 3D printing. For three days, scientists from IST Austria and teachers of the Talent Academy accompany the students and assist them in their projects.
A graduation ceremony on Wednesday, 30 August, will close the Science Camp.

The Talentesommer at IST Austria takes place from Monday, August 28th to Wednesday, August 30th from 9 am to 4 pm. Students from the 6th to the 9th grade can participate. Spontaneous participants can now register at the website a few remaining places.
