Living on Campus

Living in an apartment on campus harmoniously combines the working on campus with living in the country side. You live near your working place and can enjoy the beautiful nature after work.

The Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) offers two major groups of apartments depending on the length of your stay:

  • Short term apartments
  • Long term apartments

Short term apartments

For a rental period of min. 2 months to max. 6 months we offer 32 apartments in 5 residential buildings for rent:

• 24 apartments – 33 m² including balcony
• 4 apartments – 65 m² including balcony
• 1 apartment – 54 m² including patio
• 1 apartment – 44 m² including patio
• 1 apartment – 33 m²
• 1 apartment – 70 m²

The apartments have a combined living and sleeping room, a kitchen and a bathroom with a toilet. Family apartments/shared flats of up to 65-70m² provide a common living room and bathroom, a toilet, a master bedroom and a second bedroom for children/housemates as well as a kitchen.

Every apartment comes fully furnished with a convertible sofa (additional beds in the family apartments), cupboards, a table with chairs, a wardrobe and additionally with its own private, lockable storage room in the basement.

For this housing category basic kitchen and cooking facilities, dishes, towels and beddings are provided by IST.

On campus you will also find a pub, kindergarten, a soccer field, a beach-volleyball field, two tennis courts, a bowling alley, and an outdoor gym. In the immediate vicinity there are an elementary school, and several supermarkets. The ISTA Shuttle Bus, and the public bus lines, takes you to Klosterneuburg, Vienna or Tulln.

Long term apartments

For rental periods of min 3 months to 1 year with extensions on availability we offer 90 apartments in 9 residential buildings:

  • 72 Single apartments (8 apartments of 35m² and 54 apartments of 40m²)
  • 18 Family/shared apartments of 78m²

Small apartments
The fully furnished two-room apartments offer enough space for one or two people.

In the living/dining area there is a pullout couch (40 m²) or a smaller couch (35m²), and a kitchen. All living rooms and bedrooms are equipped with high-quality laminate flooring. The bathroom/toilet is tiled and offers a walk-in shower.
 
Total living space: 18 apartments à 35m² and
54 apartments: 40m²
Bedroom: approx. 10m²
Living/dining area: approx. 20m²
Bathroom with WC and shower: approx. 5m²

Family/Shared apartments

The fully furnished three-room apartments offer enough space for families or flat-sharing by of up to 4 people.

In the living/dining area there is a pullout couch and a kitchen. All living rooms and bedrooms, as well as the storage room are equipped with high-quality laminate flooring. The apartments have a bathroom, equipped with a bathtub and a double sink, and a separate toilet.
 
 Total living space: 78m²
 Bedroom: approx. 13m²
 2nd bedroom: 10m²
 Living/dining area: approx. 35m²
 Bathroom with WC and shower: approx. 6m²
 
All Apartments are fully furnished with a kitchen, bed and sofa, cupboard, table, chairs, bathroom and wardrobe as well as a storage area (basement).

Due to legal reasons the apartments are not equipped with dishes, towels, bed linen, etc.

There is a storage room for bicycles and strollers on the bottom floor of each building. Each apartment also has a separate storage room in the basement. A laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer is located in the basement of each building.
