State Secretary of Finance visits IST Austria

Today, Sonja Steßl, State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Austria, visited IST Austria in Klosterneuburg. The  President of IST Austria, Thomas Henzinger, and Managing Director Georg Schneider briefed Ms Steßl on the recent developments and the future plans. Based on her experience at the Joanneum Research Centers and at the NanoTecCenter Weiz (both in Styria) state secretary Steßl highlighted the importance of cooperation between hotspots of excellence, both in Austria and abroad on a European level. Steßl’s visit was concluded with a tour of the campus and a meeting with young scientists. PhD student Maurizio Morri and postdoc Georg Fuchsbauer explained their fields of research and their motivation to come to IST Austria.
