  • Taking a lead position in the lab organization (training students, ordering consumables, managing stocks, keeping our databases up to date)
  • Implementation of new equipment and assistance in experimental setups
  • Mediating interactions with our Scientific Service Units (e.g. Lab Support Facility, Electron Microscopy Facility, NMR Facility, etc.)
  • Actively engaging in research projects with focus on protein and nucleic acid biochemistry
  • Establish protocols for phage-based assays
  • Supporting internal and external users with using laboratory infrastructure and reporting results
  • Being part of an interactive and international group of students, postdocs, and interns with diverse backgrounds

  • Completed studies/PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics or another related relevant field
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a sense of responsibility
  • Experience in managing laboratory systems and supplies
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of molecular biology, protein purification, protein and nucleic acid characterization techniques
  • Experience in microbiology and/or phage work is desirable, but not necessary
  • Hands-on mentality to design and implement new add-ons needed for experimental setups
