Kryptographie

Kryptographie, die Wissenschaft der Informationssicherheit, wird oft in das Reich von Spionen und Geheimagenten verbannt. Aber wir alle verlassen uns täglich auf Kryptographie, etwa beim Internet-Banking oder wenn wir unser Auto mit einem drahtlosen Schlüssel öffnen.

Die Kryptographie-Gruppe am ISTA arbeitet an theoretischen und praktischen Aspekten der Kryptographie, darunter:

Kryptographie für leichte Geräte: Das Team arbeitet an nachweisbar sicheren kryptographischen Schemata für leichte Gerate wie RFID Tags, die zu eingeschränkt sind, um existierende kryptographische Schemata durchzuführen.

Leck-resistente Kryptographie: Dieses Projekt konstruiert Schemata, die nachweislich sicher gegen “Seitenkanal-Angriffe” sind. Das sind Angriffe, bei denen ein Angreifer Informationen nutzt, die ein kryptographisches Gerät wie eine Smart-Card während der Berechnung freisetzt.

Nachhaltige Kryptowährungen: Bitcoin ist die erste erfolgreiche digitale Währung. Ihre Popularität beruht auf der Dezentralisierung – es gibt keine zentrale Autorität, die sie kontrolliert. Um trotz Dezentralisierung die Sicherheit zu gewährleisten, wird ständig viel Rechenleistung verschwendet, um “proofs of work” zu erstellen. Das ist ökonomisch und ökologisch gesehen problematisch. Die Pietrzak-Gruppe arbeitet an nachhaltigeren Kryptowährungen.
